Berks County probate records found on the Latter Day Saints site turned up the following information about George Yoh of Windsor Township.
GEORGE YOH
The will of George Yoh Of Windsor Township, Berks county, Pennsylvania was proved on April 10, 1783. It names his wife, Elisabeth, and children Daniel, George, Peter, Jacob. Michael, Catherine, and Eve.
About August 14, 1788 his wife , Elisabeth, died intestate and her son Daniel and son in law, Leonard
Winger, were appointed executors. Her accounts included bonds and money due from Peter Yoh, Jacob Yoh, George Yoh, Eva Shmiten, and Peter Shmitt, among others. It also mentioned the “children of Michael Yoh, desc.”
On 12 January 1809 the will of Peter Smith, a carpenter, of Brunswick Township – then Berks county and later Schuylkill county –was proved. His brother Balthaser and his son Peter were executors. Jacob Yoh was a witness. His children were Elizabeth, William, John, Peter, George and Jacob .
In 1786 Peter Yoh and wife were a sponsors at the baptism of Peter Smith, son of Peter Smith and Eve at St. Paul's church, Windsor Township.
There was another Peter Smith with a wife named Eve (Wagner) in Tulpehochen township about the same time, but these Peters were separate individuals as noted by the names of their children.
Eve, the wife of Peter Smith is probably the daughter of George Yoh of Windsor twp. And Jacob Yoh of Brunswick Township, who was a witness to Peter's will, is probably Eve's brother and a son of George Yoh.
On 24 July 1794 the will of George Klechner of Richmond Township was proved. In addition to his children he named his son in law, Jacob Yoh who was married to his unnamed daughter. This Jacob Yoh is not the same as Jacob Yoh of Brunswick Township, They are both listed in the 1790 census –one in Richmond and one in Brunswick. The one in Richmond is probably the son in law of George Kelchner since he is listed on the same census page as George Kelchner . It is not known which Yoh family he belongs to but he may have a connection to Andrew Yoh of Richmond township.
On December 15, 1787 the will of Jost Shoemaker of Bern township was proved. He named his grandson, George Yoh, who was the son of his daughter, Elizabeth and George Yoh.
William Bosler's will was proved January 4, 1780. He named his son in law, Daniel Yoh, who was probably married to his daughter, Susanna Margaret, desc.
George Yoh of Windsor was naturalized 1761
He was an emigrant on the ship, Townsend, in 1737. Valentine Himmelberger and Eberhard Geschwind were also on this ship. John Geshwind was a son in law of William Bosler and George Yoh's grandson, Adam Yoh, a son of Jacob, married Christina Schlappig who was a great grand daughter of Valentine Himmelberger.
