My several-times great-granfather, John Yock apparently came from Germany around 1790, to Randolph County, virginia, where he married Margaret Catherine Carpenter, who was native to the area. I have heard that John's father may have been Tobias. Does anyone have any info on that?

WE have John Yoak (same man, I believe) being born in 1770 and dying in Randolph Co, W(VA) in 1842/3...married Margaret Carpenter. Did you find any information on Tobias?

John was probably born around 1770, he was definitely in Randolph County, and he was married to Margaret Catherine Carpenter.

no information that definitely links John to Tobias, and I can't find info on Margaret's parents either.
