LuCheryl,
The three children that you are missing are Charlotte Elizabeth born 9Dec 183 in Stone co Mo she died 30 May 1974, Fred Yochum, only lived 3 days born 11 Jan 1909 and Gorham Melvin Yochum died age 6 bor 14 Dec 1915 and died 3 July 1922. Sarah Adeline Davis and Martin B. Yochum were my Great Grandparents (I have a picture of them if you would like a copy). I am Della Pearl Yochum's granddaughter. Martin's parents were William Yochum born 1823 in Independence Co, AR, he married Barbara Moore born 1823 in Alabama. Sarah's parents were William Andrew Davis born 1841 in Calhoun Co, Il, he died in 1904. and Charlotte Blackstone born 1884 in Calhoun Co, Il and she died May 1908 in Stone Co, Mo. Charlotte's parents were James Blackstone born 1817 in Sumner Co, TN and Polly (last name unknown) born in 1824 in TN. I have found Jame's father, he was James also born 1784 in TN...no info on a spouse, I have the children of James and Polly as ell as William and Charlotte, if you would like that info as well. That is as much as I have to this date aside from a bit of other info that you may be interested in hearing....looking forward to speaking with you.

Re: Yochum Family in Missouri
So glad to hear from you. My mother is Josie's biological daughter; born to her in Oklahoma, April 1923. I have a photo of Josie taken at that time, that has been verified. All I want to know is what kind of a person was Josie and what kind of a life did she have. I greatly appreciate your taking the time to reply. Sharon(Houston Texas)

Re: Yochum Family in Missouri
Thank you very much for replying. What I know of Josie came in bits and pieces that my mother got from her older sister, Artie Phillips Schulte,(who gave my mother the only picture she has of Josie, taken before she was born) who was a little younger than Josie at the time my mother was born. It was Artie that told my mother when she was around 7, that she was adopted, which me and my sister didn't learn until we were teenagers. My mother's older brothers, knew Josie when she came to Beggs OK to be with her sister Lottie. The story goes that Lottie and her family were tenant farmers for my grandfather, Walter Phillips. When my mother was born, he brought the baby home to my grandmother, Virgie Phillips, who didn't even know where the baby came from for a few days. As time past, I don't know how long, The story goes that Josie began coming up to the Phillips house to play with my mother and talked of maybe keeping her. My grandmother then hot footed it to the county courthouse and had papers drawn up to adopt my mother. Josie went back to Missouri. The Phillips came to OK from around Huntsville ARK, which is not so far from where Josie came from. My mother lived in OK until we moved to Texas in 1957 where she still lives. She was widowed in 2001 , has two daughters, 5 grandchildren and 1 great grandson. She worked her whole life; garment factory worker,ILGWU union represenative and hairdresser.Everyone ion her adopted family is gone now except my mother, who is 85.It's not like my mother has been searching for years, my mother just gave me Josie's name and location, a couple of years ago to see what I could find out. But, Josie is a connection to my mother, even though she didn't mother her and any info, no matter how small is of great interest. Thank you so much, Sharon
