Hi,
I just came across your post and thought I would respond. I spent a good deal of time over the past couple years researching this Yoakum line for a book I wrote. My grandma was a Yoakum and our line is traced from Matthias Yoakum who did indeed marry Eleanor See. It took me quite a while to sort out all the connections and lines. As far as I can make out, this was his second marriage. His first wife, Maria Uhngefehr, died on the trip to America from Germany (they actually set sail from Rotterdam in the the Netherlands). He married Eleanor See and his son, Felty (Valentine was his given name) married Margaret See...who was either Eleanor's cousin or sister (Eleanor was much younger than Matthias).
As far as the Elizabeth that is listed in the documents about the captives taken from the Muddy Creek Massacre...both the Felty/Eleanor AND Michael/Catherine had a daughter named Elizabeth. Since both Eleanor and Catherine were taken captive, their daughters, the Elizabeths, are both listed on the captive documents that you have probably seen. It took me many night of going back over those lists to figure that one out! Catherine See, along with all her daughters, were "married" off to members of Cornstalk's family.
Hope some of this helps. If you're interested...my book "Rough Set of Characters" is available on Amazon. It does sort a lot of this out.

If you are interested in any more information I have, just let me know. I was really overwhelmed with how well documented our family is!!
