Robert,
I was wondering if you had any luck finding your Isaac b. 1809 in TN who migrated to MO. My Henry b. 1810 also migrated to MO and settled in Carthage Co until 1863 when he left for NE Texas. Henry had children (from 1836-1857) Jesse J., John G., Jacob A., Benjamin Daniel, Martha/Mary Esther, George Henry, James Cade, Martin Miller Augustus and Manuel Taylor "Tobe" with wife Martha/Mary E. Jennings. My snail mail is 1116 SW 118th Pl, OKC, OK 73170-5632

Hi Gary,

I have a picture of Bessie and 'Field' that I received from George Shryock (descendant of Bessie's older sister). I have almost no info on your line of the family and would be most interested in any birthdates, marriage and photos you could share. How and when did your mother move to Texas? Do you live there? Bessie's brother Tommy was my great grandfather. His son Ray moved his wife and family to California after WWII. Ray's daughter lives here as well as her offspring and most of her siblings, though two moved up to Oregon.

Please reply - I would like to get your Email address and write to you. I have so many questions and have been trying to hook up with Yoakums from our line for a long time.

Cheers,
Robert

Robert,
Please e-mail me at b-and-g@austin.rr.com.
I moved Mom here to Austin after the St. Louis Airport bought out the area where she and BessieField had there homes.
The picture at the Yoakum site and some of George's pictures were supplied by my Mom, she was always a photo buff.
If we can answer any questions please feel free to e-mail us.
Gary

All info I have seen shows that Isaac's wife was Rachel Sisk. However, believe we have found proof that she was actually Rachel Clark, and her mother's maiden name was Sisk. Willing to share info with all interested cousins. Pls e-mail me direct at:

In response to your inquiry about the Yoakums. I am descendant of Issaac & Rachel also. I am trying to track my Cherokee roots. Issaac & Rachel had a son, Jessie, who had a son, Simon T. This is my relative. I would be interested in any information you have on the Cherokee background.
Thanks
Jeny

Does anyone have any information about the line of Hiram Douglas Shryock 1862-1951? About 15-2o years ago I was writing to his grandson, Stanley Eugene Shryock who lived in Frederickstown, Mo., but we did not stay in touch. I would like to see if I can find a connection between his Shryock line and mine. Hiram Douglas Shryock came to Missouri with 3 brothers from Bedford, IN. Two of the brothers did not come along. The three brothers coming to Missouri were Tom, who lived in Malden, Charley who lived in St. Louis, and Ben of Chaffee. Can someone please give me more information about the ancestors before Hiram Douglas Shryock? I"ll appreciate any information I can get.

Stanley Shryock died in 2002, but we had been in correspondence for several years prior to his death. -- According to Stanley Shryock, (Hiram Douglas is his grandfather) Hiram Douglas and brothers Thomas, William Henry, and Charley moved to MO, while the other two brothers, Joseph and John Edgar, stayed in Bedford Co., IN. --
(not sure who the Ben of Chaffee you list might be, can you provide further info?) --

If I knew what your Shryock line was, it would be easier to connect you, but Stanley's line went thus: --
Stanley, born 1911, son of Arnold Ernest, born 1888, son of Hiram Douglas, born 1862, son of George Washington, born 1836, probable son of William, born ca 1815, probable son of John, born 1777, son of Christian, born 1735. --

hope this helps, Kitty
