What part of Texas are you from? I had family raised in Texas with the Ynfante name.

There are no name carriers living in California that I know of. All the Ynfante name carries stayed in Texas. The only name I have is Lucas Ynfante, he was a business owner as well as a school board member durning his time, which would have been late 1800's early 1900's. He had 2-3 sons, they stayed in Texas, while one of his daughters moved to California. No one seems to know what happened to the rest of the family.

I'm going to ask my grandmother if she remembers any names. Lucas Ynfante was her grandfather who she remembers very well, but she has has never talked about his other children. Maybe that name will ring a bell for her. After her grandfather passed away, the family lost his ranch, and that's when the family moved from Nacadoches. To what cities I don't know. Are any of the cities that your family is from near Nacadoches?

I spoke to my grandma tonight, I have the area wrong. Her grandfather Lucas Ynfante came from Mexico, he married a woman name Jane who was either Apache or Cherokee indian. They lived in a small area called "Bonaldo" there is where Lucas Ynfante opened a small store and was on the school board. He owned his own ranch, it was after his death that the family lost the ranch and moved to Nacadoches. My grandma remembers two uncles who she believed were named John Ynfante and Lawrence Ynfante. The rest were girls. John Ynfante was killed in a house fire is what she believes but he did have children. She says she knows he had a son but doesn't remember how many or their names. The same with Lawrence, he had children but she doesn't remember them, but he also had sons. He has passed away also. My grandmother asked me if you were near Houston, she believes those areas are near Houston and she said family had moved there but she couldn't remember names because she pretty much lost contact after her mother passed away. My grandparents are in their 80's which leaves generations after her missing. We have family throughout southern California which are all descendants of her mother Katie Ynfante, however most of them are Martinez's. If I could find out who her uncles children were, I could possibly narrow it down. How old are your grandparents? Does any of what we've written about ring any bells to them. My grandmother said she would look for pictures, however they would be very old pictures being she hasn't been to Texas in maybe 40-50 years.
