I am doing research on the yielding family and will be glad to share my information with you My father was William Lee, his father was William Melvin, his father was John Bradley, his father was (I believe) Jasper, his father was Taylor, and his father was Richard. I'm sure we tie in somewhere along that line.

Tonya thanks for responding about the Yieldings. I will try and contact you direct with more info. My Yieldings went from Alabama to Arkansas to Texas. I think some brothers of Jasper may have been in Mississippi but so far I haven't found my clan at least in census. Which son of Richard Yielding(Yeilding) are you decended from...John, Frances,Richard, Taylor, or Joseph? I believe mine is Taylor from all the info I have collected so far.

Hello,
I am very interested to share info on Jasper's family.
I have Martha married to A.J. Taylor, Matilda married to Joseph D. Merchant, Elvina married to John R. Merchant, Jennie married to Walker A. Henderson, General T. married to Lue Etna Waldrip, and my gr-grandfather John Bradley married to Josephine Brenton. I have more info which I'll share. I'd like to compare notes and dates. Are you a decendant of one of these children? I also have a few pictures. Do you know when John Bradley married and where?
What info do you have on Jasper? I have just recently found new info on Lucinda his wife.

I am not kin to the Yieldings but to the Merchant line, the Merchant's that married the Yielding's were cousins of my grgrgr grandparents.

Elvina Yielding did marry John Riley Merchant Nov 21, 1884 Bell Co. Texas this is his 2nd wife No children known.
1st wife Mary E. Curtis (one child Eva Alice Merchant)
John Riley Merchant remarried 3rd wife Francis Carroll, on
March 08, 1888 in San Jacinto Co, Texas. they had 3 children (Samuel Sylvester, William Wesley, Martha/Mollie Laura Merchant)
John died before 1897 because Francis Carroll Merchant married General Taylor Yielding (his 2nd marriage) on Aug 18, 1897 in Walker Co, Texas. (one child Irene Yielding).
General Taylor Yieldings 1st married Mary Bruer/Brewer on Oct 03, 1895 Kaufman Co, Tex (no known children).
General Taylor Yielding married 3rd wife Lou Etne/Etna Waldrip on March 30, 1902 Walker Co, Texas.
(5 known children)(Lou is the d/o James Sylvester Waldrip and Sarah Elizabeth Perry) (granddaugter to Andrew Brown Waldrip and Matilda Emaline Merchant).

I do not have were John Bradley Yielding married Josephine Brenton, but her sister Callie Donia Brenton married Robert Albert Merchant b. 1869 cousin of John Riley Merchant b. abt 1858
Callie remarried after Robert died to I believe a cousin of his James Reed which I believe is James Richard Reed son of William Warren Reed and Mahula Jane Merchant b. 1835 (aunt to John Riley Merchant b. 1858)

Jennie L. Yielding married Walker Alexander Henderson on Nov 17, 1892 in Ellis Co, Texas. ( 4 known children)

There is a marriage record for Johnson Co, Texas M. A. Yielding married to D. A. Merchant on Feb 23, 1885.
I think this is Martha Yielding and Davenport Allen Merchant. b. abt 1853 cousin to John Riley Merchant.
(Davenport Allen Merchant and his sister Alice is living with his Aunt Mahulda Jane Merchant and her husband William Warren Reed in the 1870 census for Milam CO, Texas).

Matilda Merchant is listed with husband Joe Merchant in the 1900 Census for Walker Co, Texas, with child Coleman Taylor, So I assume this is the M. Yielding that Married A. Taylor. She then remarried Joseph D. Merchant brother to John Riley Merchant. (one known Child Homer Merchant)
Joseph D. Merchant remarried after Matilda died to Sarah Lee Thompson Waldrip on Oct 7, 1906 Walker Co, Texas after she divorced her husband Theodore Early B. Waldrip,
Theodore E. B. Waldrip was the son of Andrew Brown Waldrip and Matilda Emaline Merchant.

Also, Laura Yielding married her cousin Hardy G. Henderson.
Laura (d/o General Taylor Yielding and Lou Etne Waldrip and Hardy s/o Walker Anderson Henderson and Jennie L. Yielding)

I would love to have any pictures or info on the Yielding/Merchant descendents that you are willing to share,
