Hi Mary Ann,
Do you know your grand fathers(Ronald) brothers and sisters name.?
Do you know where George Douglas Yewen was buried.
Our George Douglas Yewen was born 1880.
His wife Cecilia Mary N Yewen ( Nee Crapper) born 1879 We now know that Cecilia was buried in St Johns cemetary Toronto. 1924 she died.
Is there any-way that you can check the head-stones.
One interesting factor comes from the relative in the states.
When her grand-mother Hilda died. (Cecilias sister and sister in law to George Douglas Yewen). She recalls "When gram died in 1967 I remember relatives from Toronto came to the funeral and their name was Yewen." She knew the name of George Douglas. But she would have been only 23yrs and knew absolutely nothing of English heritage. She posted a message on Ancestry. co. looking for her english grams heritage. Her gran had sent letters to my gran back in 1932. I took copies. The address on the back of the envelope was where she once lved in Bufalo with her own mother. The address it went to was in London where I used to stay. We found the connection.
Carol
Your father died in 1963 but is it possible Ron and any brothers and sisters attended.
Would your fathers brother living in Calgary know any-thing.

I believe "Mr. Yewen" my greatgrandfather is also in St. Johns..I know Cecilia is there and an infant with no name..Any ideas? My grandmother is buried there (the one married to Ronald Douglas) and Uncle Bernie and my aunt who died on the weekend is being buried there today. I am now in Spain so not there but I think it is today. Regarding the funeral..it was probably Uncle Bernie and Aunt Myrtle (the one who died on the weekend) they lived in Toronto.
I will try to go to the cemetery sometime..Regarding my fathers brother..he will not know a thing...The person who knew all just died. Auntie Myrtle was the family roots expert!
