Trying to find ancestors of my dad, William Raymond Yeubanks, born 2-1-06 in Hartville, Missouri. His parents were William Columbus Yeubanks and Elsberrie Hefner Yeubanks. Also interested in Hefner side of family. Daddy had one brother, Ransel, three sisters, Evelyn Yeubanks McKee, Birdie Yeubanks Toon, and Elta, who is deceased. He spoke of relatives in and around Springfield Mo Also, I know he had some stepsisters and/or brothers. Would appreciate any info. Shirl

Parents of William Columbus Yeubanks are:
John Wesley Yeubanks b.Sept 1844 in Arkansas d. Feb 1919 in Coffeyville, Kansas and Martha Keister b. Abt 1847 in Missouri d. July 1918 in Coffeyville, Kansas.
Parents of John Wesley Yeubanks are:
Morton (or Martin) R. Eubanks (Yewbanks,Yeubanks) b. 1813 in South Carolina d. Bef. 1900, buried in Marshfield, Webster Co., MO.and Sarah Unknown b. Dec. 1822 in Tenn. (or Georgia) and d. Feb 1907, buried in Marshfield, Webster Co., MO. In the 1850 and 1860 census they were in Green Co., Arkansas. In the 1870 and 1880 census they were in Webster Co., MO.
My husbands Great-grandmother was a sister to John Wesley Yeubanks. Her name was Julia Emmaline Eubanks. Most documents have her name as Judia(h). She married James Hughes in Webster Co., MO. They moved to Jackson Co., Arkansas about 1878/79. After James' death, Julia married Robert Williams (a widower with several children). The 1900 census indicated that Julia gave birth to 8 children but only 3 were living. They were William Riley Hughes, Ada Mae Hughes Manuel (my husband's grandmother) and James Russel Hughes. James Russel died shortly after 1900, as a teenager. I would appreciate exchanging data with you (pstancill@cox.net).

That kinda confused me. if you want information--I can ask my mom to recieve a call from you--she LOVES TO TALK, and would be happy to help---RSVP--I am also trying to find info to obtain and find our Indian Roll Number---maybe we can help each other. Nice to meet you---cuz.

My husband's great grandmother was Julia Eubanks Hughes. She was a sister to John Wesley (Eubanks)Yeubanks. The only reference to any Indian blood that I have found on the Yeubanks was for William Raymond and Evelyn Yeubanks in the 1930 Census in Oklahoma:
1930 Census Oklahoma, Nowata, Snow Creek, ED 14, sheet 1A, April 3, line 3/3
age at 1st marriage
Sanders, William C. 45 MO MO MO 24 Farmer
Ethel 36 MO IN IN 16
Yeubanks, Raymond 24 Kansas Mixed Blood Cherokee Indian/Boarder/Single/Teaching-Country School
Yewbanks, Evelyn 18 Kansas Mixed Blood Cherokee Indian/Boarder/Single/Teaching-Country School
-----------------------
Since there is no reference to Indian blood for the Yeubanks prior to this I wonder if Raymond and Evelyn's mother, Mary Elsberrie Hefner, was Indian?

Maybe this helps.

Thank you so much for the information---this helps me tremoundously!!!! If Raymond & his wife registered and are on the Indian rolls---this means we have found the info we have been searching for so long!! My mom miden name is Yeubanks, and all the names you mentioned to other persons, I know some of those people(before they passed) and the Indian comes from my mom's dad's side---Yeubanks, he is a cousin to Ransel & Evelyn, and William was my granpa Yeubanks. Floyd A. or O. Yeubanks had a sister named Mattie or Minnie that enrolled the family on the Indian rolls. Do you have any information about this?? Floyd Arvel/Orville Yeubanks was born in Jan.1900, but I dont know where yet, but he died in Montgomery county,Coffeyville, Ks. in 1978. Any more information you could give me would be great, and it is nice to meet you----cuz. My name is Connie.

Floyd's sister was:
Martha (Mattie) Rebecca Yeubanks b. 16 aug 1905 d. 10 Feb 2001 in Raymore, Cass Co., MO. This according to her Social Security. She first married Wayne Helnis, then she married Harruon Hoffman. She married after the 1930 census because in 1930 she was still living with her parents.

I am Shirley Yeubanks Bandy My father was William Raymond. His sisters were Evelyn Yeubanks McKee, Birdie Yeubanks Toon, and Elta Yeubanks. Don't remember her last married name. There was another brother, Ransel. All of the above are deceased. Their father was William Columbus Yeubanks. Mother Elsberry Hefner Yeubanks. I have a cousin who has quite a bit of info regarding the Yeubanks family. She lives in Denver and I will be moving to Denver the last of March. As far as the indian part of the family I do know there was Cherokee blood but don't think they ever filed it. By they I mean my grandpa and his brothers would not file. More info later Shirley by the way, where do you live? Shirley
