Hi, Betty.
Nice to meet you. do you have any idea which spelling came first and would be found in Germany? Have you gone back any further than these 2 individuals?

Michelle,
There are many variations, some spelled with J, such as Joetter. My maiden name was spelled Yetter but I have found that there are some with different spellings today. Even the oldest I know of have been spelled in different ways. Keep those messages coming.Betty

Hello Michelle, (For All Yeaters and Their Kin):That is what the Yeater Cousins Association has as their slogan. Genealogist Bill Linder who passed away last year wrote the first newsletter in 1968 and other Yeater members along with Bill organized the Association and started the newletter like in 1971. Several years ago several of our group, again including Bill Linder, started consolidating Yeater and Kin family genealogy databases. This became a webpage called DESCENDANTS OF JOHANNES YEATER with cousin Edna Park Waller as the webmaster. We were able to connect the various family spellings under Johannes. Then the Genealogy webpage people canceled out on us so that was the end of that webpage. But it was a tremendous accomplishment. Now the Yeater Family Webpage is back. Edna Park Waller worked her magic in the last few days and the database that was on the internet is available again through Edna and I on FamilyHistory.com and it has greater possibilities than it had before.

If you are a Yeater descendant, bring your spelling variations, send me your email address and and I will add you to the list.

You will be able to see where you fit in and if you choose to you can provide information to fill in the gaps or add photographs and history. My email address is ryeater@usinternet.com with my sceduled new email address to be ryeater@mediaone.net Try them both since my new one is not up yet. Then you can't go wrong. There are a lot of Yeater names on the webpage but we are just scratching the surface. I'll be looking forward to hearing from you. Roy J.
