Yetman's in Nova Scotia, Canada

I'm searching for information on my grandfather, Joseph Francis Yetman born around 1890 in Halifax.
He was married to Mary Margaret Fougere (b. 1891) from W. Chezzetcook (daughter of Charles Fougere and Catherine Carmichael).
They lived in Halifax, Nova Scotia. I believe Joseph's parents were: Joseph Yetman and Elizabeth Wise. He had at least two sisters: Emma May and Elizabeth.
This Yetman family attended St. Mary's Basilica (RC) in Halifax.

Looking for any additional info!

Steve,
I'm a YETMAN from N.S.,CANADA.I've been looking for where the Yetman originated. All Yetmans in CANADA came from Newfoundland but where before that?I've traced them to the 1600's in Newfoundland. My grandfather's name was William Joseph Yetman born April 13 1883 Harbor Grace district Newfoundland.Try NEWFOUNDLAND genealogy website .Its a great site.

Hi Sandy,
I noticed most seem to come from Newfoundland, Harbor Grace and Bryant's cove area, but I haven't found many in the Halifax, NS area where my grandfather was from.
Do you know of any other Yetman families in Halifax? I found a Yetman in real estate, and one in politics, I think, on the net, but I don't know if there's any connection.

I've been gathering info on all Yetman families trying to make some links.
You can email me at snelson@edgenet.net. Perhaps, we could compare notes?
Also, I found out my grandfather, Joseph's parents were Joseph Yetman and Elizabeth Wise.

Thanks,
Steve.

I have no prove of this but, my Dad Walter
John Yetman of Harbor Grace and Massachusetts, USA had told me that the name before it was shortened to Yeatman was about tweny letters long in
ancient England.

I found it interesting, my great grandfather was david Yetman
his first wife was a wise

I am doing reasearch for a new business venture. In the
early 1900's my great grand father owned a barber shop,
located in Halifax Nova Scotia

I own a spa in Ontario and I am adding a gentlemen's room,
providing strait razor shaves, barber cuts, facials
which I am calling Papa Yeyman's room

This is very interesting. I am the sister of Steve Nelson who was the first one to ask about the Yetman's of Nova Scotia. We have an old picture of our grandfather working in a barbershop in Nova Scotia, which he may have owned. It could have been a relative also working with him. We are not sure who is who in the picture. As my brother said our greatgrandmother was a Wise. Tomorrow I will tell him about your post. He has probably not seen it.
