I am looking for information on my great grandfather who was born in Pommern, Germany on the 7th of August 1842. His father's name was Michael and mother's Charlotte F.L. Neitzel. Herman married Alberta Ziemers in Germany. He and his family came to America in 1875 on ship Rhein. The name was spelled Jeske in Germany. Brothers Frederick, Carl and August came to America also.

Esther - could the Herman Yeske you are looking fo be related to my g-grandfather, Herman Jeske, b.1862, in Prussia? His father was Frederic Jeske b.1828, mother Wilhelmina b.1832, also in Prussia. I found on the 1880 census Frederic, wife Wilhelmina, children Bertha b.1859, Herman b.1862, Frederic b.1866, Ida b.1868, William b.1871, Robert b.1873, Henry b. 1877. Living next door (next farm) in Cicero, Outagamie Co. Wi., was August b.1837 (brother?), wife, Louisa and children Wilhelmina, William, Mary, Frederic, Anna and Bertha. Also, in the 1880 census, (brother??) Albert Jeske b. 1846 and wife Augusta, with children Eda, Henry and Albert lived another 5 doors (again, Farms?) down.
My ggrandfather, Herman Frederich Jeske b.1862, married Bertha Hagen from Wisconsin (although I can find no evidence of her) before 1892, when Reno Jeske was born. My grandmother, Helen Amelia Marie Jeske, b.1896 - they then moved sometime between 1896 and 1902 when the youngest child was born, in California in 1902, this being Walter. I would love to find more on Bertha Hagen as well as Herman Jeske lineage. Feel free to email if you have info, or if I can help you. Thanks. haydonna@msn.com

I saw your post for Herman Yeske and his brother Frederick. Even though Frederick is a common name, I thought I would drop you a note.

I am looking for Frederick Yeske (died 29 Oct 1929 West Olive, MI) who married Ella Klukas (died 8 Feb 1955 West Olive, MI) and had a daughter named Augusta Hermina Otillie Yeske (born 13 Jan 1891 Toledo, Ohio). Augusta married George Christian Bleckley (17 Feb 1893 Bairdstown,OH - 20 Jan 1958 Detroit, MI) on 31 Oct 1914 in Toledo, OH.

Does any of this match with your Frederick?

Robert,
I'm doing research on our family tree for my children and was wondering if you have any dates of family members past Herman & Albertina Ziemer Yeske. I found your blog on rootsweb and need some information. I'm Ardell's daughter Linda. Love to you and your family.

I am very interested in how you are related to Herman. My cousin and I are writting a book and need more information on Michael and Charlotte. We found a Charlotte Neitzel in the 1880's census, but we were wondering why her last name was Neitzel and did she remarry after Micheal's death. She is listed as a widow and is living with her daughter Wilhelmine and husband Johan Kisow in Manitowoc, WI. I know Herman immigrated in 1875 and his 2 year old son was my grandfather August Yeske. Please write back. Thank you, Linda Rau

The youngest son Otto was born in 1880, so it's about 1892. He looks about twelve. I know they were married in 1860 and she died in 1902. Do you attend the Buntrock reunions?
