I'm looking for any info from the 1920's and back on the Sisks, Cockrums, Bogners and Yeskes. They have lived in Sesser (some buried here), Belleville, Freeburg, O'Fallon and Christopher. My great grandparents were Charles Cockrum(b. Aug 1886), a barber, and Lettie Cockrum(b. May 1896), whose father was a store owner, I believe in Sesser. Lettie had two sisters, her twin Nettie (married to Cordy Good) and Lula Cockrum(who married either a Swinney or a Schroeder). I do not have any information on the parents of Charles Sisk, however his siblings were Edward (who married Margaret/Mag) and was a banker, Aaron, and Lula(who married either a Swinney or a Schroeder as well). Charles and Lettie had two daughters, Lula (my grandmother) and Martha.
I am also looking for my grandfather's families, the Bogners and Yeskes. His father was Adolph Yeske, a coalminer who lived in Freeburg, IL. He was either born here or possibly in Germany and his middle name may have been Herman. Adolph was married to Margaret Bogner. She had a brother who was married to a Viola Langenstein who gave birth to Harlan Bogner, my great uncle. Adolph and Margaret Yeske had 11 children, some of which died young, but of the ones who survived I know of Max Yeske, Paul Yeske, Hilda Yeske (married name Mugler) and Rose Yeske (married to Charles Simon). My grandfather's name was Robert Herman Yeske(b.May 1912).
Both of my grandparents are deceased (Robert in 1969 and Lula in 1999) so any information beyond their parents is difficult to come by. I do have some other information, but because both sides used some of the same names, matching the right person to the right descendants is tricky. We believe that the Yeskes came from Bavaria, Germany sometime between 1850 and the early 1900's. The Cockrums were well established in this country by that time though.
Any information would be greatly appreciated, no matter how small. I'll be more than happy to share what information I have.
Thanks!
