After doing some research about my family history
I found out that "Yescas", is actually a small
town in Spain. Except the Spanish spell it differently.
It's spelled, Illescas. I'll post more as I find more facts.
My family is from Altar, Sonora, Mexico. It's
near Caborca and Santa Ana.

Hi Amy!

Hey that's pretty cool. I've never heard of
Cananea before though. I really don't know much
about the area. I just know my family is from
Altar,Sonora. I found out not too long ago that
"Yescas" comes from Spain. But there it's spelled
"Illescas". I might be going there nexy year.
Write back if you find out anymore stuff about
the Yescas family.

Hello neci...i was born in caborca, sonora, and my mothers' last name is Yescas... i've been looking for some information about where this last name comes from...some people say one thing and other say diferent, but the most reasonable is that there were two immigrants in sonora who came from spain with this last name, they were brothers. They spelled it "Illescas". One of them went to north part of Sonora, and tha other stayed in tha southeast...so my mom was born in a little town called Trincheras, that is spreaded with this last name, is very close to Altar...

Hello, my name is Oscar Yescas Jr., my tata - Alberto Yescas came from Trincheras, Sonora, MX. My tios and tias all live in the Sahuarita area, about 20 miles south of Tucson, Arizona. I too have been interested in the background of our name. It's a unique one - I would like to know how to trace history of the name. Thx
