TO all of the YERBURYs that are scatered throughtout the globe, and you all know who you are. I've begun a project here in a suburd of Seattle (where if we're not rioting we're rumbling) whereby I'm attemptimg to trace our collective family history(s).
What I've learned so far is that, a goodly portion of the family lives in ENGLAND/SCOTLAND/WALES. There is a "French Connection" under the name YERBURIE, but all attempts prove fruitless (they feld during Cromwell, but later returned). Also, have spoken with many in both CANADA and AUSTRAILA, and have been informed that there may be a Jamaicaian connection as well.
So all of you YERBURY that are out there and are plugged in, let's talk and share our collective histories. Should this project prove to be the minimum of what I think it will be, we've all got a tremendous history in common. So here I am, waiting to here from you.
Thanks much to TREVOR and GREG (please keep in touch, if only to say HI!!) for all your help and assistance...MARIE for the CANADIAN insight....MARGIE for her input

well my mum's a yerbury so that counts !! You've probably already got most of the information that I have because in 1998 I was in contact with Trev and Marie (if they're the same ones). I compiled what I had at the time onto two web pages which is at http://freespace.virgin.net/mark.yerbury-hodgson/yerbtree.ht...I also have some spreadsheets of marriages and births from someone in Australia which relate to the UK. If you want to contact me I'm at myhodgson@hotmail.comMark

Hello, My name is John Yerbury (DOB 19 Nov 1943). I live in southern England.
If it helps the branch of my family originates from Trowbridge and Bradford on Avon where we were weavers in the 17th Century. I believe that a Francis Y invented the process for making Cashmere from which he did very well. Family names seem to be Francis, Walter, and John through the generations. unfortunately we seem to be dying out as most of my relations only seem to produce girls!!

Hi Bob, My name is Alfred Yerbury. I live in Tacoma. I have been tracing my Yerbury family for over 20 years. My ancestor,William Yerbury, was born in 1788 in Frome, Somerset, England. My family worked in the woolen trade. My great grandparents Alfred & Ellen (French)Yerbury came to Seattle in 1890.My grandfather Alfred Yerbury came to Tacoma in 1905.There are several descendants of Alfred's in the Tacoma vicinity. My lot seem to go back to a Francis Yerbury, born in Beckington (nr Frome) in 1779. A distant cousin, Rowland Janes, sent an aunt some of the tree in 1977 - yes, that recent - but I've been unable to get in touch with him. Your Bradford connection may link with Ann Woodward (q.v) and the number of Francises in my tree could be a clue. Any thoughts? myerbury@connections.cdsinternet.com

I've been reading the message boards for Yerbury's. My late mother was a Rose Yerbury, her father was George from Wilthshire who married Mary Anne Milsom from Blaenavon. George also had a sister named Marion who emigrated to Canada. I wonder if anyone has any maiden name links with Canada

I am a yebury, in heart, my mother's maiden name is yerbury and it is the only family I have ever known, there are yerbury's in Utah, I don't know if you are aware of them. I live in Corvallis OR. I can only seem to trace back to an ansestor named Thomas in 1630, The LDS history library has him buy the name Thomas Yerburg instead of the recent Yerbury name. If someone has knowlegede of his predecessor please pass it on.
Sincerely Jessica Yerbury Engler

Us yerbury girls feel your pain, if only us ladies take the name by tradition, And it is true that the yerbury's seem blessed/cursed with girls as I am the youngst of three and not a man was born amoung us. I have heard rumor of the family's connection to the royal house of england which has the name Bradford in the line, if you have knowlege to prove or disprove this long held rumor it would be very helpful
