Hi,Chris, here is some information I found.Chris Yepsen's parents were Peter Christian Yepsen, his mothers name was Anna Robinson. However, these records are listed as Yepson. Also it is spelled this way for the marriage license for Chris and Myrtle. Her parents names were John Warkins and Nettie Breeden of Dover.I am sending for copies from the courthouse. When I find more info,I will let you know.Does Aunt Sadie know why the spelling was changed from on to en?If you have any other information please let me know.Thank you--JH

I am a relative of this family too. My father (Lloyd Yepsen) formally of Princeton is the son of LeRoy and Martha Yepsen. My Grandpa LeRoy was the son of Andrew Yepsen. My Dad has explained to me why there seems to be confusion between the "son" and "sen" spelling of our name. There was a large group of Norwegian's living in the Princeton area long ago. Most people assumed that our name was Norwegian (it's actually Danish) and often spelled it that way. My father's birth certificate was actually misspelled because of the confusion. Every second Sunday in August is the annual Yepsen family reunion. Please contact me if you would like more info on the reunion, or any other Yepsen family history.

Hi,Melenee,I was just wondering if you have any info on your grt-grandparents?or grt-grt-grandparents?I think, but am not sure, that Andrew and Chris Yepsen were brothers.I have Chris's death certificate, and it lists Peter Christian Yepsen as his father and Anna Robinson as mother.Do you have any info on them?

Hi there! I'm trying to get more information from my Dad. We're going to ask his uncle Jack and see how far back he can help us with. I'll definitely post the information as soon as I can.

I hope we can piece this all together :o)

Sorry, but Yepsen has always had the "en", not the "on". Yepsen is Danish, not Swedish. is there any info you could give me on my family? Andrew, Chris's brother. I believe in Denmark it is spelled Jeppsen. thanks, Connie

The correct spelling is Jepsen, and the pronunciation is Yepsen/Yepson. The name is Danish and when your research takes you to Denmark, be sure to look for Jepsen. I have a Jepsen that immigrated as Jepsen, but all census records show Yepson. Researchers will have to look under Jepsen, Jepson, Yepsen and Yepson in America.
