I can help you with the Yepsens of Yetter, Iowa. Please e-mail me directly: ermajuer@wccta.net as it is too much to put on this message board. These Yepsens were from the Schleswig-Holstein area in Denmark.

I'm looking for info on Yepsens from Schleswig-Holstein. There were 5 children (parent's names unknown): Caspar, Chris, Johannes Peter, George, and Maria.

The only line I have much info on is Maria Yepsen (my ggg-grandmother). She was born around 1818 and married Ernst Christiansen. They moved to Princeton, Ill in 1869 because her brother, George, was already living there. In 1874, they moved to a farm in Cherokee County, KS.

The little I do know about the others is that George Epsen came to America, lived in Chicago for a time, and then moved to Princeton, Ill. He marrried Wilhelmina Batz and had 4 kids: George Valentine Yepsen, Casper Yepsen, Kate Yepsen, and Anna Yepsen. I know nothing about his children other than their names.

Johannes Peter is believed to have remained in Denmark, although at least one of his sons, John Yepsen, moved to Princeton, Ill. Johannes had 4 children: John, Eunice, Lloyd, and Herman. Once again, I know almost nothing about this line, either.

Chris Yepsen was believed to have remained a bachelor.

I know almost nothing about Casper Yepsen, but one of his grandsons, Herman, lived in Chicago and one of his daughters lived in Atlantic City. Casper probably never came to America himself. He did have 4 children: Fred Jepsen (wife- Augusta ?), Matilda (husband- ? Widdecke), John Magnus Jepsen, and Ingeburg (husband- ? Shilling).

I have a family history written by my husband's grandmother who married Ralph Yepsen, beginning with Casper Yepsen. I would like to share and compare notes with anyone else interested in this family. You can email me directly at alynch@ptialaska.net

I am looking for information on Yepsen Family from Bureau Co,Il.I am the great granddaughter of Christian Yepsen, son of Peter Christian Yepsen and Anna Robinson Yepsen.I have copies of their death certificates.Christian was born 6/8/1877,East Grove Twnsp,Bureau Co.,Il.
Peter Christian Yepsen,b.d.approx.2/1846.d10/4/1895.His death certificate says he was 49yrs,8mos,8days old.His place of birth is listed as Germany. It also lists him as being a widower,so I am not sure this was Chris's father. No parents or other information is listed on his death certificate.
Anna Yepsen,b.d.5/5/1849-d.5/5/1911.Her place of birth is listed as Denmark. Her fathers name is listed, and the best I can make out is Geo.Grepesne(?)and her mothers maiden name appears to be Tille. They are both shown to be from Denmark, also. She is also listed as being married at the time of her death. It also states on there that she had been in the US for 36 yrs,and in Il. for 22yrs.Chris Yepsen is listed as the informant.Does this information go with anyone elses info?

Hi Cousin...I'm the grandson of Patricia Tinly Duckworth, the sister of Jack Tinley, husband of Helen. Little Helen (their daughter) was my godmother. I spent many summers on Glen Avenue with Uncle Jack & "Big" Helen...the family called them "Big" and "Little" to differentiate them as both were named Helen Elizabeth Tinley. I can tell you some wild stories of Uncle Jack.

I would be interested to hear the stories of my grandfather (Jack). Please feel free to contact me directly. christopherphenry@msn.com I never heard Grandma and Helen being referred to as Big and little Helen. Kind of surprising. I know the Emmett’s were referred to that way.
