Hi, I'm just want to say Hi out there to any Yepiz family members. I live in San Diego California and most of my known relatives live here in California. My ancestors mainly are from La Paz Mexico.

There are more Yepiz relatives all over Baja California Mexico. Los Cabos, La Paz, Ensenada, Tijuana and Mexicali. Don't be suprized to find Yepiz in California.
|
Thank you for your reply. Yes, there are a lot more Yepiz here in California than there have been in the last 15-20 years. Our family was about the only ones listed in the San Diego phone book. Now there are many, most I don't even know. I'm sure we are related somewhere down the line. Maybe even to you :)

I live in San Diego, moved late 97, part of the Yepiz family been in the states for about 50 years? hard to know.. I can give you a couple of names of Yepiz family you'd probably would like to get ahold of.

I have a feeling we're related somehow. I'm really sorry to hear about your dad. My dad passed away almost 10 years ago, and still feel like it was yesterday.
I'm in San Diego, I guess we should meet sometime and talk more. Last year I got an email from Irma Yepiz, who's been really into tracing family roots, she said the last name comes from Russia and it's been transformed to Yepiz from generations to generarions. As far as I knew before this enigmatic research, Yepiz comes from Yaqui and Seri indians from Sonora.
|
My father told me also that we are from the Yaqui Indians. Another family I went to school with had the last name Yepis and they did not claim to be of mexican decent. The said they were German. One of these days when I have time I would like to start a family tree and trace my roots. I only have the names of my grandparents who were both born in Mexicalli and their parents surnames; Garcia, Fuertes & Villa. What part of SD do you live in? I live in Chula Vista.
|
Yup, that is correct. We descent from Yaqui indians, Sonora. Irma Yepiz, who also lives here in San Diego has more info, she's been really serious when it comes to research, so far she's got amazing conclusions on where the last name really comes from.
I live in North Park, close to 30th and University.
