I have Yeandle/Yandle/Yendalls from Devon and Somerset, England going back to 1600's. You can view my tree on the web search for The Tudballs, Yeandles and the Rest of West Somerset.(If anyone is interested I also have a fair bit of Yeandle data from all over UK)

Hi Helen
One of my ancestors is a Faithfull Yandell, probably born in Dartmouth, Devon in 1765. I've come across several Yandells / Yendells, etc with this Christian name in different generations, particularly in Somerset. I wonder if there is any family connection. Is this name familiar to you at all?

HI Graham, no I haven't come accross that name before. My Ye(a)ndles are mainly from West Somerset area and the North Devon border. I've gone back to around 1600 so far. My tree is on the web if you search for Tudball Yeandle West Somerset you should find it, if you're interested. If you think we have a connection please let me know.
Thanks for contacting me
Helen

I may have a Yeandle in my family tree. I've been tracing my direct matrileneal line in the Devon/Somerset border area. The line I'm currently working on is Ball from West Anstey, Devon. I have a marriage between John BALE (which I think has been mistranscribed and should be BALL) and Elizabeth Yendle in August 1815 in West Anstey. According to the 1851 census, Elizabeth Ball was from King's Brompton, now Brompton Regis in Somerset. I've checked the Brompton Regis parish registers, which are online, and found an Elizabeth Yeandle, who was baptized in May 1787 and would be the right age for the marriage.
