Surnames: Yelden, Dawson
My dad's name is Ernest Louis Yelden and my mother's name is Bess Dawson Yelden. Both my parents are deceased now but time frame sounds about right and they lived in Iowa and in fact are buried in Delaware, I believe. They lived in Earlville, Iowa for several years in the fifties and that is where my dad died and was buried there in the family plot maintained for Yeldens. Have you contacted any other Yeldens in the Delaware area?

Surnames: Yelden, Kragenbrink, Schnittjer, Nieman
My grandmother-in-law is Margaret Yelden Kragenbrink of Earlville, Iowa. Her father was Martin Reinhardt Yelden, son of John and Johanna (Schnittjer) Yelden. Martin was born near Delaware, Iowa, in 1878. Some of my information comes from the Nieman Family book. I have not taken any time to research at St. Paul's Lutheran in Delaware to go back further on the Yeldens. If I can be of further assistance, contact me at laxsonRN@aol.com. Yelden is still a fairly common name in the northeast Iowa area.
