My particular branch of the YECKEL family originated in Germany, uncertain where. I know that Charles YECKEL arrived in Syracuse NY and was an upholsterer and Lutheran. Born 1857 and died 9 May 1933. He was Married to a Henrietta RHEINHEIMER and had 2 sons--William G. and Herbert C.
Karolina YECKEL, born 19 Aug 1866 in St. Julien, Germany, lutheran, died 19 Feb 1917, in Marysville, Marshall, KS no indication that she was married. Sister, Katherine YECKEL MILLER and 3 brothers--Charles of Syracuse, NY, Jacob of St. Julien, Germany and Nicholas of Olith, Germany. I have no idea where Olith Germany is or was.
Katherine YECKEL married 1 Mar 1882, to Jacob MILLER, musician and farmer. Born 1 Jul 1861, in St. Julien, Germany, died 7 May 1935 in Marysville, Marshall, KS. Year of immigration given as 1887 or 1886. 2 sons-- Oscar, born in Germany and Louis born in KS and one daughter, Lizzie MILLER FALK.
Herbert C. YECKEL was a physician and taught at Syracuse University. Married and had children. William YECKEL I know nothing about. Nicholas YECKEL I know nothing about. Jacob YECKEL I know nothing about.
I don't know if we have a common tie or not, but this is what I have at this point. Let me know if we have a connection.
