Hi. If you're looking for info about YEIZER's who sometimes spell it YEISER, I have some info. This Particular YEIZER branch is the one that went to Chicago, IL at the end of the 19th Century, after a brief stop by some of them in Cincinnati OH.
If the names YEIZER, MORDECAI, EMMERT, PENDLETON, PAYNE mean anything to you, please feel free to e-mail me.
Sincerely, Judy L.

My (7g) grandmother's name was Rosina Yeiser or Yeizer (not sure of spelling.) She married John Pennywitt in the 1740's in Pennsylvania. They then moved to Virginia. Would you possibly have any information on Rosina's line. I have information on John and Rosina's children, but nothing about her side of the family. I can't seem to find anything.
Thank you

Nina, The name Rosina Yeiser seems so familiar to me. But, I just looked through my Yeiser file, and can't find it there. The closest I come, ROSA YEISER, probably won't help, but I'll post it here in case it helps someone. Hi, I am interested in information on the children and descendants of, John and Rosina Yeiser Pennywitt. Barbara

Hi Barbara
This is some information I have on John Pennywitt and his wife, Rosina Yeiser. His birth name was Jean Beneauvent, and he came to New York from France in 1740, along with his two younger brothers. He settled in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania where he worked as a millwright for a man named Yeiser. It was his daughter, Rosina, that he married. I don't have any other information on her family, not even her father's first name. John and Rosina eventually moved to the Shenandoah Valley where he started a grist mill on Mill Creek. The information I have is that this is where his last name changed from Beneauvent to Bonovit, then to Bonowitt, and then to Pennywitt.
He and Rosina had four sons and several daughters. His sons were Jacob, twins John and Phillip, and Adam. I descend from the twin John. John, Phillip and Adam moved to a place called Gift Ridge in Ohio in Adams County.
John (twin) married Ann Moore. They had three sons named Mark, John and Tavenor. Mark married Nancy Naylor. One information I have is that they married in March, 1810. I found on the internet a list of marriages from Adams County, Ohio, which showed they were married on February 1, 1810. Their children were John, Margaret, James, Reuben, David, Mark and Samuel. My line extends down through David Pennywitt. He married a woman by the name of Tamor (possibly Tavor) Pixley.
David and his wife had six children, Henry, Sophie, Margaret, Mark, Susan and Ellen. Margaret was my great-great grandmother who married John Henry Prather in Manchester Ohio. He was a Methodist minister (circuit rider).
Margaret and John Prather had 8 children, Olive (my great grandmother), Harry, Eva Mae, Mark, Lily, and Ray. Their daughter Olive Prather married Frank Louderback, who had one son, my grandfather, Harry Louderback. He married my grandmother, Naomi Gearing. They had three daughters, my mother, Rita, and her two sisters, Ruth and Juanita. I did not know my grandmother, Naomi, as she died about 2 months before I was born. I also don't know anything about my great-grandfather, Frank Louderback.
I am still searching for information on Rosina Yeiser, but have come to dead ends. I have found other "relatives" that descend from her as well, but they have no information, either.
I have found some dates of birth, resting places, etc. on other Pennywitt lines through information on the Internet and contacts with new relatives. I hope this helps. Let me know if there is any other information you may need, and I'll check to see if I have it.
I also have a book that I had ordered that had a lot more information on some of the Pennywitt relatives. It is called A History of Shenandoah County, Virginia, by John W. Wayland, who knew some of the Pennywitt children.

Dear Barbara and Nina, I've checked in a Yeizer Genealogy that my cousin got from the National Archives and couldn't find any Rosina listed. However, since there were several brothers and cousins that came over from Germany prior to or about that time, I thought it might help if I listed them and where the papers say they went. Maybe there will be some clues here to help you.

Hi
Thanks for the information. I'll save it in case I can connect Rosina to one of them. Her line has me baffled because I can't find a connection to her anywhere. Somebody out there has got to have some knowledge of her, but alas, where to look......
Thanks again

I maintain a large database on the Yeiser family: esp. descendants of the four brothers who arrived in America in the mid-1700's. Will be glad to share what I have on this family with other descendants. I'm descended from Englehart Yeiser/Yeizer/Jayser originally from Germany. Please email me privately at sjogibson@alltel.net. Rosina Yeizer was from Lancaster PA, and her father owned a mill there, which is where John Pennywitt started working. Apparently, Rosina's father was wealthy, according to a family article that I have. I do not have her father's name, but I also have seen spelled Yizer, which was probably not the correct spelling. Rosina and John left PA, and seddled in VA.
