I have been trying to trace my family, but as the others I have had a difficult go with Yahle/Jehle ect. I have been through the census records and spoke to relatives, so I'll share what I have. My grandmother was Catherine Lucille Gladys Beavers Rose. Her mother was Mary Gladys Yealey Beavers. My grandmother's father was James Burton Beavers who ran a thrift store in Attica, Iandiana. James died when my grandmother about 11 and Mary died when my grandmother was about 12, so getting the family history has been difficult. Also, Mary's father i've been told was Joseph Yahle but he left his wife and two young daughters(Mary and Fanny) to run off with a neighbor's wife. census records show that by 1900 Mary's father, Joseph Yahley was not living with them. Also, Mary's mother remarried, but i was told he died leaving her to raise a two year old son George Osborn. i do not know Mary's mother's name or maiden name for sure. I have heard it was Bell or Ross, but I do not have any record of this. if anyone has heard of this story or a joseph Yahle in a similar situation around 1900, then please contact me. It appears that Joseph came from Baden, Germany as per census reports. I have heard they originally came to PA before Joseph settled in Indiana. Also, Mary's daughter ( my grandmother's sister) Mildred Irene married Kermmett Sheets, but she died shortly after child birth. Also, I have not found any record of their marriage, but the census report of 1930 lists kermmitt as a boarder in the house. This was also the year that Mildred died. Kermmitt raised the son. They all lived in Attica Indiana. Just another tidbit. Anyway, Anyone with any info or stories please contact me.

I'm looking to identify Yehle's that may be related. My Jehle (Lambert) came to America in 1868 with his two brothers (Alois and Fridolin). Lambert went to Northern Missouri, Alois may be the Alois in LaCrosse Wisconsin and Fridolin I can't find and may be a sister or brother (unclear from passenger list, though Lambert's grandson said in 1982 that Fridolin was a brother).

I doubt that we are related directly but I have established a surname DNA project via www.familytreeDNA.com and would love it if males from the various Jehle/Yehle/Yahle, and similar groups would take the 37 marker test so that we can compare.

Please let me know if you are interested in comparing notes. -- Richard, California

I have heard my ancestor Fredoline Jehle came here before 1868 fromm Baden with 2 brothers. I wonder if we match up?

Thanks for contacting me. It would be great if we could find a connection. Apparently, Jehle is a reasonably common name in Baden, however.

My Fridolin arrived in 1868 with brothers Lambert and Alois. Fridolin went to Kansas, Lambert to Missouri and Alois to Wisconsin. I don't have perfect proof of this connection. I have tried to connect with the Yehle family in Wisconsin without success. I have been in contact with two brothers in Missouri, descendents of Willibald Yehle. I do have a connection between Lambert and Willibald but I believe it to only be a lessor/lessee connection in Maryville Missouri.

If any of this sounds familiar, let me know. You've found me on ancestry. The complete tree is available at ancestry and in another form at http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~yehle/

I haven't been able to talk anyone into taking a DNA test as yet where I created a Yehle surname group (http://www.familytreedna.com/group-join.aspx?code=C66705&...) and have taken the 37 marker Y test (currently on sale).

Hi,

I have also made considerable progress since my last post in 2006 and have my tree (Black Rose) posted on Ancestry.com. I have found that my Joseph Yaley married a woman by the name of Sarah Jane Jennie Butler (may not be her maiden name). They lived in Aurora, Illinois through 1910 and then lived the rest of his life in Scottsbluff, Nebraska along with their two children Roy (married a Hill)and Ruth (married a Witters). Richard, have you tried contacting this line? I haven't reached out to this line myself yet. Roy had two boys named Tommy Joe (unknown birth-might still be living) and Roy o. Yaley jr. who has passed away and I believe only has daughters.

As far as I know I have nobody in the family with this spelling. I haven't heard of this line and thus have not tried to contact them. I'm guessing that they aren't related, other than maybe coming from the same part of Germany.

I do have enough information from various sources, now deceased, to suggest that the three brothers were all there were from the family I'm searching.
