If the name is spelled "Yegge" were related. Its not exactly like "Jones" Originally the name was "Jegge" and mistakes at Ellis Island in the spelling of the name for the original imigrants caused the name change. I have family trees (not done by me) but can link you to the maker of theses. I know them to be pretty much authentic at least for my leg of the family.(Martin Yegge) we all began in Iowa and branched out from there. Also there are Catholic and Protestant branches of the family.I happen to be from the Protestant branch, not that it matters much, just by way of info. I grew up in North Iowa, around Mason City area, but my fathers side of the family was mainly in South Dakota. Will try to email copies of a family tree page to anyone requesting it that get email with attachments. Give me a few days, I have to scan it into the computer. Greetings to all.

Hello Gaylord,

I was just scanning through the Yegge message board when I found your message.
Several Yegge's whom I recently met have a good start on our history. The most complete I have found is Jack Yegge's in State Center,Ia. We met two years ago and have a fair amount of work together. Jack is from the Vinzent (oldest child from Swiz)line.I am from Johann F. line (second oldest. We have set the date of July 4th thru 7th of 2002 in DeWitt,Iowa. This marks 150 years since our Yegge ancesters arrived in the USA.
DeWitt is chosen because that is where many of the family members settled and are burried. Please foward a copy of your line. I have been using The Family Tree Maker to input info I receive. We hope to have as complete of history as possible for the reunion. Birth and deceast dates are very important. We also would like currant address and ph# if possible. I look forward to hearing from you. Self plug***I live in Ankeny Iowa and own a Jewelry Store thus the e-mail name artisanyegge. If you have jewelry needs for the holidays let me know I can save you some $$$.
Sincerely,
Alan Yegge

Hi Alan! I just wanted to let you know I haven't forgotten about the addresses for you and Jan. My uncle, Harold Yegge passed away a few weeks ago - My Aunt whom I'm working with to get the addresses has made some trips to Calif (where my uncle was buried) to assist with his wife etc. I promise to get them to you ASAP! I also have a great deal on info on the Frank H Yegge Loretta M. Bell-Yegge line already loaded on Family tree maker - More than was originally sent to Jan. Take care and I'm glad to see some messages on the Yegge Board!!!
