To the relative of Yee Jock Leong:

In searching the internet for information on the On Leong Merchants Association of historic Detroit Chinatown, I stumbled upon your website. I am in awe to find that your relative has listed several merchant venues or business ventures in his address book that were located in the core region where chinatown was situated. Do you know your relative's relationship with the places listed in his address book? Did he shop there or did he do business?

I wish to know more about your relative and his history in the Detroit area (if any). I was hoping to contact you on this thread since there is no contact information on your website. My name is Chelsea Zuzindlak. I am a student at Wayne State University and researcher in the Detroit area. I will be compiling archived information and documents that uncover the history of a fairly ignored demographic in the Detroit area. At the end of my research, Friends of Detroit Chinatown in partnership members from other APA community groups, such as the Detroit Asian Youth Project will show an exhibit at the Detroit Historical Museum in 2009.

If you are interested, I would like to forward you some information about the exhibit as well.

Best,

Chelsea
