My name is spelled Yednock, but it was Yedinak on my birth certificate. My father was
Joseph Yedinak, and he came from Slovakia around 1905. He eventually settled in Greene County, Pa, and had 12 children, of which I am one. He passed away in 1975, at
the age of 85. If anyone has any info as to his European ancestary, I would be very happy
to hear from you. My email address is Yednock@shol.com Thank you!

Donna, I am also a Jedinak descendent. My great grandmother was Juliana Xenia Jedinak. She married a Joakim Muta and lived in Mochnaczka Wyszna, Nowy Sacz District in present day Poland. I was just there on a vacation/research trip and found that the Slovak border is less than 5 miles away. My grandfather said that they used to pasture the cows in Slovakia so the border was even closer in the old days I think. My ggma had two brothers who emigrated to PA - Dimitri and Peter. The family name was changed to Ednock over the years. Could your Slovak family have been very near the Polish border? Marion

My dad was John James Yedinak and his father was John Joseph Yedinak and they lived in Wall PA.....The background is Croatian....and my grandfather immigrated in 1900.....he married Eva Vugrincic......in PA.......My grandfather's brother Anthony kept the name Jedinak when they immigrated and my grandfather went with Yedinak because he thought it would be easier ........would love to compare information....contact me at chickk99@yahoo.com

I just stumbled on to this website. but this is to Robert Yednock, I think you are my uncle. If your brother is Bernie and Stephen then you are. I just recently started talking to bernie again. I am the daughter of Richard Yednock, son of John Charles. I told him that I was starting to look into our family history. It's nice to finally see a name that looks familiar.
