Hello,

I have been working on the Jedinak, Yedinak, Yednock family history and have copies of the original baptism and marriage records of the Jedinak, Yedinak, (later Yednock)s who came from Kohanovce, Humennes, Slovakia (was Hungarian Empire when they immigrated). The parents were Mihaly Jedinak and Susanna Hadvabni (also Hadbavni). Mihaly (also Michael) came from Olsinko (now Slovakia) and travelled 25 kilometers to Kohanovce where the Hadvabni family had been living along with the Tutkos and Sepelya (now Shapella) since the earliest records in 1804. Mihaly and Susanna married Nov 16, 1863 and had 4 children: Maria Jedinak born 24 Nov 1864 who married Janos (John) Sepelya (Shapella) 20 Feb 1884, Janos (John) born 24 Dec 1866, married Anna Somplyak 18 Nov 1889, Tamas (Thomas) born 20 Dec 1869 married Anna Tutko 9 May 1892 (son Paul born Jan 1892), and Gergely (George) born 6 Mar 1873 (died at age 3 weeks). The 3 living children all immigrated to Pennsylvania although John moved on to Wyoming. I will email anyone who wants to see the church records.

Hello,

Aaron Yedinak here... I have been curious about my lineage for a while now and joined here to maybe find something out, but I ran into the same problem as everyone else... BUTTTTT I just saw this post here and noticed that Charles had a kid named Fred, which was my Grandfathers name before he passed... wondering if he was the same? I talked to my dad a while back and he said that his grandfather was the one who came from Croatia

Hi Bill, My Great-gma was a Yedinak. Lived in Mochnaczka Wizna in what is now Nowy Sacz, Poland. She had relatives who came to the US. There are a number of Yedinaks in PA but also be aware that some of the families changed their name to Ednock. You are welcom to look at the public part of my tree where there is a photo of Juliana Ksenia Yedinak Mutka. Sincerely, miller41153
