I may have finally located some family of Leland Lester Yeakly. I have heard from a Jim Yeakley whose family used to spell their name Yeakly. From what information each of us has it appears our great grandfathers were brothers. They were both from the same general area in Oregon as Leland's dad John. THey werean't all always honorable upstanding citizens but what the heck at least it is finally a lead on family and the first we've had since I received Leland's death certificate. Still haven't received his and Rhoda's marriage license from California. Sure hope that's where they were married.Tried for Leland's birth certificate but apparently his birth was not registered as Washington state has no record of it. IF there's anyone out there has any information on possible family history, please leave a message and well be in touch. My email is tlcmomm@aol.com

I have now received further information on Leland and Rhoda. Was able to obtain a marriage license from California. It has very conflicting information. According to Leland's death certificate his father was from Oregon and his mother from Washington state and Rhoda's mom was from Redford, New York and her father from Devon, England. Now according to the marriage licens ( on which they lied about their ages by two years each) Leland's dad was from Illinois and his mother from Oregon and Rhoda's mother was from Canada and at least her dad was still listed as being from England. He's the only one we've been able to verify as right. Have a lot of research ahead in the new year.
