Ted, Thank you Thank you Thank you!!!!! I really appreciate you taking all this time... are we related in some way? My tie in is through Maria and Daniel's son, Reuben Again thanks so much! Marta

Marta We are not related but we have a common anscestor, David Jackel who came to America in 1734 with 12 of his children. You are descended from one of the children (Abraham, Maria's grandfather. Her father's name was also Abraham)and I am descended from another one (Hans). They came to America in the third migration of Schwenkfelder (religious group) families from Germany. They arrived September 22, 1734 in Philadelphia. The name of the ship was the Saint Andrew and the masters name (probably captain)was John Steadman.

Ted, Thanks for the info....does the Swenkfelder group have a web site, or geneology records available? I guess we're some sort of cousins a zillion times removed or something, huh? Looking forward to hearing from you nest... Marta

Marta The Schwenkfelder church has a library with all the genealogical records of the Schwenkfelder families in Pennsburg, PA. The library also has many items that were owned by the families on display. I'm sure you would enjoy visiting the library. The original Schwenkfelder meeting house and cemetery are only several miles from the library. I'll find out if they have a web site and what time they are open. Ted

Ted, You are so cool!!!!! I really appreciate this!!!! I'm really excited about finding this part of the family. Thanks again so much! Marta

Marta, The phone number for the Schwenkfelder library is 215-679-3103. They have a web site, but they say it isn't very good and I haven't tried it yet. The address is http:\\users.ox.ac.uk\rpcinfo\sfld\s_guide.htm. Wow I could never remember that one. They said that their web site is through oxford university. don't ask me why??? Do you live close to Pennsburg?
