Looking for relatives of Berks and Northumberland County Yeagleys
I am looking for relatives of John Jacob Yeakley, b. 1740, and his brother George Yeagley, b. abt. 1737. The name may be spelled like above, or be Jackle, Jegly, Yeakle, Yeagle, or Yeagly. This line started in Berks County and spread into the Robesonia/Millbach/Stouchsburg/South Lebanon/Lebanon area of PA. It also spread into Northumberland County, PA (George's line). There are parts of George's and John Jacob's line that moved on to Ohio, Maryland, and Virginia. I am especially interested in finding the link with the Ohio Yeagleys.

Re: Looking for relatives of Berks and Northumberland County Yeagleys
I read your message about looking for Yeagleys in Ohio. My grandparents, Thurman and Margaret Yeagley, lived in Beloit, Ohio. I don't know that much about the Yeagley family history but would love to find any information I can get. There used to be an area called Yeagleys Corners that was somewhere in the area of Sebring-Beloit-Alliance-Salem, Ohio.

Re: Looking for relatives of Berks and Northumberland County Yeagleys
Hi!
I've got a Jacob Yeakle, from Marion County, and Michael Yeakley, from Butler County. These folks are from the 1800s. If either of these hold any familiarity, let me know and I'll try to fill in more details.
The name was eventually changed to Yeagley--shades of the two possible original root names: Jägli and Jäckle.

Re: Looking for relatives of Berks and Northumberland County Yeagleys
My grandmother's maiden name was Yeagley, her great grandfather was John Jacob Yeakle, born in 1767. My ancestors came from the Stouchberg, Pa area. I don't have any info on an Ohio link though.
