Hi,

I have been doing some research on the Yeadon family of Charleston, South Carolina, as part of my continuing Steedman family work. It would seem that the immigrant founder of the family was a Richard Yeadon who came to America from England before the revolution. I have developed a framework of the family through late 1800s; however, I am finding a lot of holes in my knowledge.

For instance, Col. Wm. Yeadon, born about 1774, had two wives. The first seems to have been born in the 1780s and they married about 1800. Who was she? They had a son Steedman V. Yeadon about 1819. This suggests that she was a Steedman, but I can find no link. His second wife whom he married in 1833 was a Steedman. At least on of his daughters from first marriage married a Steedman about 1829.

If you have any information or sources of information, I would be interested in hearing from you at gene -at- tqsi.com.

thanks,

Hi John, would your records show a Mary Elizabth Yeadon born around 1801 (Charleston) and died May 17, 1850 in Charleston? She married an ancestor of mine, William Smith Price of Charleston. They were married on May 12, 1825. I cannot find any information on Miss Yeadon's parents.

Hi,

Yes, I can help. Please send me an email and I will send you a report on her from my database which is now more up to date than my web site.

Here is what I have online:

http://www.johnlisle.org/stedman/tng/getperson.php?personID=...

I have since determined that her mother was likely a Charlotte Martin, but I have not found proof of the marriage.

I am also interested in any info you have on Price family descendants.

I have another correspondent who is interested in the Price family who might be interested in getting in touch.

You can send me information at caffie@charter.net. I have put together information on acestory.com titled Thibodaux-Price. I thoroughly searched from James Jacques Price through today with as much as I could remember from my grandmother and the census information I have found online.

I noticed in your records that you mention Col William Yeadon's will is found in Vol 45 (1845-1851), pg 598. Would you or anyone else have a copy of this will that you could share with me?
