Interesting to note that there is a Rawdon, Nova Scotia. There is also a Rawdon, West Yorkshire, about 1 mile from Yeadon.... some connection surely given the apparent preponderence of New World Yeadons in Nova Scotia?

Do you know the story that prompted John Yeadon to leave england? Also John's wife was Elizabeth MacIntyre. We are now searching the MacI ntyre line. Need connecting proofs of her family in probably Scotland. We know that they had a Toll House in the area of Guisley. Was it a canal or river that the toll house was on? Or anything you can add.

Hi Ken, Hope you are still following the message boards. I want to correct a name that I wrote and inadvertantly mispelled it. John Yeadon's wife's name was Elizabeth MacIntosh. 1783. I hope I did not mislead anyone. There seems to have been a number of MacIntoshes there in Nova Scotia and involved with the Yeadons. I am decended from George R.and Jane Umlah and my grandmother was their daughter Martha Jane (Jennie) Yeadon whomarried Frederick Moore Havill from Devonshire.
Perhaps I may be fortunate to hear from you.
