Paul, I am not sure about this. But on my family tree I have vasquez and my maiden name is also Ybarra. Merced vasquez is my gggrandmothers maiden name. she was born in chihuahua mexico. she married Pelagio or pelayo najar. The two had a child Simona Najar in whcih she married Juan Inez Ybarra. I know some of themmoved from mexico to new mexico and into L.A.Ca. as this is where I was born. I wish I could find more information. If any of this matches up with yours please e-mail me.

David,

You said that your name may have been spelled Ibarra and came from Mexico...Right?
Where in Mexico?
You'll notice my name is Ybarra too, but my father and his brother were born Ibarra and came from Sonora, Mexico.

I am searching for a friend who's father's name was Juan Ybarra. He died in the 1940's at Normandy Beach at the age of 22. He was married to Ruby Lopez. Had 2 sons, Jose and Gavin who passed away in 1950s. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Juan lived in Silver City NM and was born around 1920. Looking for any relative.
