I have much of the information in which you seek. Please contact me directly for the exchange as it is far too much to put on the message boards.
My records are family records mostly and I would be willing to share and exchange with you in the future.
However, I would ask that you furnish the names through which you feel you are connected.
Thank You,
Mrs. Olson

I too am a descendent and have been trying to find out some information. I have the Ericson Books publications on Antonio Gil Y'Barbo as well as the Y'Barbo and Mora families. There is reference there to Matheo and Juana being married in April 1723 in the Alamo mission and a cousin has this record, commenting that Indians are listed on either side. I was trying to figure how they came to San Antonio from Spain and when. The Aguayo Expedition was a logical candidate in 1721/1722 but those troops headed on to Los Adaes and were back before Matheo married in 1723. Other historic records say they came directly to Los Adaes in the 1720's after Aguayo reclaimed the area from the French, and that they came via New Orleans. I haven't seen the marriage record and so cannot say which is true. I know that son Antonio was born in Los Adaes in 1729, but the Ericson publications indicate there were more children than just Antonion. If I can scan any info and email it I'd be happy to or you can contact Ericson Books for your own copies.

I'd be very interested in seeing your family tree. My husband is a direct descendent of Antonio Gil Y'Barbo. He is also a descendent of the Cordova family. As you may know the Y'Barbos and the Cordovas both were part of the Los Adaes settlement near Natchitoches, LA. Los Adaes is where the Indian ancestry began. Many of the settlers intermarried with the Caddo tribe. We had the opportunity to visit Los Adaes last summer where there was a recently discontinued excavation of the site.

Does your grandmother stem from Juan, Manuel or Leandro Cordova? We are at a dead end with Cordovas. We know that Juan Cordova (born around 1835) married Maria Regina Ybarbo in 1858 and that he had two brothers: Manuel and Leandro. If you are from this line, I'd appreciate collaborating with you.

My great great great grandfather was juan Cordova (Cordaway). I am also at a complete dead end with him. His death certificate says he was indian and his father is listed with a very different first name which is Joukun. On other family trees he is listed as Joaquin Cordova born about 1815. If he really was indian I can how his name could have been changed. I tried to search the Indian route and I did find someone on the indian rolls that had the name Ha-Kaa-Un Cordova married to a Josefa Cordova. The rolls were a compilation over years and years so there was no way to compare the age of that person at the time it was recorded to Joaquin Cordovas birth. I also am confused as to who Maria Regina Ybarbo's parents were. I see most trees as listing her parents as Jose Lucien (Luciano) Ybarbo and her mother as Maria Trinity Trinidada Chireno (Falcon) and one other tree had her mother as Maria Alphonsa Flores and Juan Ybarbo as her father. Do you know who her parents were?
