Hello, Spanish Texas history interests me and I would be pleased to correspond with anyone who shares this. I have copies of early census records signed by Gil Y'barbo and a wide range of material I would gladly share at no cost. Those who read this may find the material at the East Texas Research Center helpful: http://libweb.sfasu.edu/etrc/etrchome.htm

Thanks, Jeff

Surnames: Ybarbo, Ebarbo, Ebarb, Lambert, Byles
I am searching for P.P. Ebarb(this is the spelling on his headstone)born June, 1855 - died Feb. 1906 Natchitoches Parish Louisiana. He married Mary Alice Lambert birth 1869-died 1902. One of their children, Mary Ellen married John J. Byles (Jr.) Jan. 1871 Sabine Parish La. I found them on the 1900 census for Sabine Par. La. Both P.P. and Mary Alice are bur. in Lambertown Cem. Natchitoches Par, La. as well as their children and spouses. This is where I have hit a brick wall. I have recently discovered that his name may have been Pomphilo but was spelled Pompfield on the 1900 census. I would appriciate any help you can offer.
Thank you,
Paula
