I'm looking for any information I can find out about my grandfather Jesse Ybarbo. I'm not sure how old he might be, but the last I heard he lived in Texas. My father's name is Joe Robert Ybarbo Sr. He was born in Texas on January 9th, 1949.

Lisa, My name is Bart Burrow, my grandmother was an Ebarb (Ybarbo) from Zwolle, Louisiana and later moved to Texas. The family history is very well documented for the Ybarbo's, which later came to be Ebarb. My greatgrandfather was Alcario Ybarbo and he changed the spelling. There is a geneology book printed in Nacogdoches, Texas on the Ybarbo's. Your grandfather's history should be in it. Antonio Gil Ybarbo rebuilt the town of Nacogdoches 1779. There are still many Ybarbo in and around Nacogdoches. I will look for my copy of the book and email you with the information.
Regards, Bart Burrow

We have YBarbo's in my family too. Come from the same area. My dads sister married a Fellis YBarbo , he also had Brothers named Felix, Fred --along with the YBarbo name you will find Lazarine, Luna, Mora, Chirino, etc. Most settled around the Town of Chireno(after the family Chirino.) My Luna cousin has been the one in the family to collect the information. So see you have all kinds of family running around. My maiden name is Lazarine. If you get that way again, you need to go see the Lazarine Cemetery. The Nacogdoches County Court House has the old ledger that recorded whom was burried there. My Uncle Fellis and Aunt Laura Lazarine YBarbo are buried there along with many other family members.

Billie, I noticed you said some of your people are from Call, Texas. I was trying to research some of my family history. Most of the Y'barbo's that I am kin to are from Nacogdoches or Kirbyville. Do you know or have you heard of any of them from Kirbyville. I am just starting out on the research part. My grandfather is Tom Y'Barbo sr. He passed away recently and I am interested in hearing anything about my ancestors.
