Padilla parents were from what the books and research call Nuevo Espana, "New Spain" or "New Mexico".
Both were from Bernillio County New Mexico.
I have the same problem with Ybarbo information in any type of book, the information is the same. I have seen a book yet, with any new information.
If I do come across something new, I will keep you in mind.

Oh, this information is news to me...never heard of New Espana, New Spain and so you think it's the same as New Mexico. You are saying they both came from Bernillo County, New Mexico?
I need to do a pedigree so how do I get this information to show the links from one generation to the others as far back as Gil's first-second-third-fourth generation in my line?
I traveled to Zwolle,LA 2002 because I understood they had copies of this information...that is how they confirmed this information about our lineage. ..with documentation.
I would like to know at least where to find it...I would search it out myself. They had a lady that had this information in a book (so they said) but once I got there then she wasn't there. I left twenty dollars there for them to send copies to me but never heard from them. I was so disappointed.

Carol,

I have the same inforamtion that everyone has about Antonio Gil Ybarbo, it says that he was born in Los Adeas, Texas. In Gils time, Los Adeas was in Texas. But with the new state boundries it is located west of Natchitoches Parish Louisiana on La. 6 near Robeline, Louisiana. As for his wife Maria Davila Padilla, some information gives her birth in either Los Adeas, Texas and New Mexico. I know that Maria's family was from New Mexico and many of the decendents of that family, still live in New Mexico. What line do you decend from? I might be able to point you in the direction for the documentation that you need for you line back to Gil Ybarbo.

It looks like we come from the same line, at least from what you sent.
Your 3rd generation is, Jose Severo Ybarbo married to Mary Lou "Viviano" Procell. I am decended from thier daughter Antonia Margaret Ebarb who married Leonardo Manshack. I will try and dig up some information for you. What is the rst of your line?

my name is nicolas b. ybarbo. my father's name was ynocencio ybarbo (deceased). i was born in smiley, texas in 1937. my research too, indicates there are lots of gil's decendents and we should be proud of it and the history he contributed to texas. i, too, want to connect all the dots and see how far removed i am from the original ybarbo so that i can pass this on to my kids and grandkids. i live in ohio now, so i don't have the accessibility, other than the internet, to gather more info. feel free to contact me too.

I am a 9th generation Y'Barbo. My family still lives in Nacogdoches. Your court house information is correct. However, there is no exact marking of his placement. In reading the previous e-mails about the Lazarine Cemetary, those descriptions are correct as well. The red stone markers are there and the Lazarine, Y'Barbo, Manchaca families are buried there.

Good luck to you in your search.
