Dear Valarie, I knew your grandparents and Richard and Louis. I lived down the street from them in the City of Commerce (once called Bandini) Richard and I were buds since 6th grade. We attended Bandini Elementary, Eastmont Jr. High School, and Bell Gardens High School. Louis was a great mechanic and was either in the Navy or in the Merchant Marines. Your Grandpa was a hard worker around the house. He was always doing something like a brick walkway, or thaking apart his wate cooler and reconditioning it by himself. Your Grandma, was a foster parent and always had to or three kids to take care of. I remember one night Richard had gone to sleep in the pull out bed in the family room and Louis came in late and got into the same bed an fell asleep imediately. When they awoke the next morning there was a strange women in bed between them. Each thought she belonged to the other!! As is turned out the women thought she came home from the local bar the only thing she lived on the next block. She had the wrong house and the wrong block. Well your Grandma was the one to wake all three of them up and she was swinging her broom thinking that they both had the gull to bring home a lady of the evening. We laughed at that one for many years. I remember Nina she was a very beautiful girl. If I remember right she married a man named Auto (German American). Louis married the Nanny of a very famous movie star named Mala Powers (I think). Louises wife was from Ireland or Scottland. I had a hard time understanding her because her accent was so thick.
I was one of the Ushers and your fathers wedding and Mrs. Powers and I walked down the Isle together. Richard first married Judy Paddilla who was my girl friends best friend and lived just down the street on Jardine St. Judy later died and your Uncle remarried later. At that point I lost track of both Richard and Louis. I do remember your grandparents moved to a double wide very nice/modern house trailer. Richard and Louis had both a construction company and a trucking company. I believe your dad ran the trucking co. and Richard the Construction co. I hope this bit of information helps you. If Richard or your dad is still alive please give them my email number: garciam@worldnet.att.net I now live in Stockton, CA and I am a retired due to a medical condition. I was a Restaurant Designer for over 25 yrs. Best wishes to you and your family. Oh my phone # (209) 951-2737

No I goofed... My grandmother (Ybanez) was an adopted indian so she couldn't have been the adopted child by Pancho Ybanez... My logic was off that day... ;-)
