Re: Anything About Yaxley
Hi Debbie,
Don't know if you've got any further with your research - I see your last post was 2002 - but I am a Yaxley descendant too. My grandfather was a Yarmouth Yaxley. I believe your mother's great grandfather was also a Daniel b.1865. If that is the case then he was brother to my 2 x great grandfather George Burton Yaxley b. 1850.

I have just started researching and have gone back from my grandmothers side surname Plester back to Richard Yaxley born around 1770 married Hannah (Prime) Yaxley in 1774 in Cambridgeshire, England, they were my ggg grandparent. They had a daughter Sarah Yaxley she married Isaac Edmonson my gg grandparents. Could there be a connection with Ricard Yaxley of the 1400's? Thanks for any information you or anyone else may have.

I haven't been very active rsesearching my Yaxley Family in England lately. The earliest date I have is the marriage of my ancestor, Richard Yaxley to Maria Jagward, June 23, 1806. Richard had a brother William but I haven't searced his line. There is a Donald Yaxley in NY state who is a Yaxley genealogist--but we can't make a connection. My great grandfather (Richard Yaxley)and family came from England on the packet ship Ontario in 1834 and settled in Lake Co. Ohio. Let me know if any of this connects. Good luck on your search. Hi I have just been browsing the Yaxley notice board on Ancestry and came accross your message dated Jun 2002 regarding Mark Yaxley. You may already have your info by now but I have the following: Mark Yaxley [born Mark Woolmer 1864 Hertfordshire d1936 New Zealand married Agnes Caroline Coventry Dalzell b19 Apr 1869 New Zealand. Mark Woolmer Yaxley's parents were Emma Pugh b1842 Colney Heath Hertfordshire and Thomas Woolmer who died 1865. [I have no idea where he was born]They married 1861 had 3 children. Emma then married 1867 Colney Heath, Cornelius Yaxley b1843 Necton Norfolk and had another 3 children. Hope this helps. Marilyn [nee Yaxley] of England
