My husbands ancestor was Christopher Columbus Yaw born 15 Oct. 1853 in N. Carolina. I think his parents were Monroe Elvira Yaw/Yow, but I'm not sure. He moved to Texas and died there in 1927 in Upshur County. Any information would be appreciated. There was a Jackson Yaw in Coliin Co. Texas who I believe was a brother.

I have no Nadine, but I do have a Jack Yaw that lived in Collin Co. during the 1910 census. He was 53 and his wife was listed as Jane, age 40, and their children were listed as Row 16, Ella 14, Mary 11, Lillie 8, Myrtle 5, Rosa 3, and Lester 1. According to my husband's grandfather, George Munroe Yaw, he is the brother to my Christopher Columbus and his name was Jackson. Christophers wife was also living in Collin Co. at this time without her husband. Perhaps Jackson had a daughter Nadine that had already moved away from home, perhaps from another marriage. What else can you tell me on this family. Please send me your email address and I can attach some things for you. I am having problems tracing this family and would love any help I can get from anyone.

Lynn, you also mentioned a Earl in your phone message. The only Earl I have was Earl Monroe Yaw, son of George Monroe Yaw, and uncle to my husband. He was born in Dallas in 1916 and died in 1998.

I don't have a direct answer to your message,
but I'm searching for my mother's (d.1982)
brother, Herbert Daniel Yaw, born and lived
all of his life in Dallas. Lost track after
Mother died(Margaret (Yaw) Barr). They are
the offspring of Dock Daniel Yaw whom I believe
is the brother of George Yaw?

Yes, Daniel Dock Yaw was a brother to George Yaw. The only thing I have on Daniel is that he was born in 1889 in NC and died in Nov. 1957 in Quinlan, TX. He was married to Mattie ? and had 3 children, Herbert Daniel who married Mary J. ?; Margaret who married Newt Barr; and Molly who married ? Hunter. I'm sorry I can't help you on finding out about Herbert. I would love to have anything you have on this branch of the family (or any other branch). I will share anything I have with you. Are you doing genealogy or are you just looking for Herbert and his family? Let me have your email address as I would like to correspond with you more. I can't find the email address on this board. Mine is fmay2104@aol.com.

I knew from his obituary that he lived in Dallas, but it said he was to be buried in Quinlan, TX. Is this correct?
