My friend is trying to research his (Lithuanian?) roots. He was born in Glasgow, Scotland in 1944 to an English mother and English/Lithuanian father. His paternal grandfather apparently immigrated to Glasgow, probably in the early 1900's (maybe during WWI?). His surname was YAUKSZAS, but he changed it to Raddie, due to the difficulties of the time. He married and bore five children, but soon after just disappeared.
If anyone has at least heard of the name or can suggest ways of researching its origins, please feel free to e-mail me. Thanks.

Hello, I have been searching the internet to find some sort of history of my Family. I was stunned to see your post as it is undoubtably my great grandfather you are writing about. The most I know about this is out of his 5 children one was my grandfather, Joe Raddie. he had two children, Don (my father) and Joanne. I realize you posted this over 5 years ago. but I would like to talk with you. my e-mail address is rave_dad@hotmail.com.
