Looking to connect my GGGrandfather Christian Yauch b. 1831 in Detwiller (Alsace) ? married in Canada to Eva Brunner. They had 10 children many immigrated to USA in the Arkansas area in later years. Christian had two sister I know of Agatha and Anna. Can you help place them in history. I beleive their fathers name was Heinrich Yauch. On a old marriage cerificte for one of the children it is spelt Jauch or Iauch.

Gratton186,

I have a possible candidate for your Christian Yauch who ended up in Canada, but he was not from Detwiller (where did you get that information from). He was from Schwenningen and his father's name was Georg, not Heinrich.

Check out this record:
http://wc.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=jss_jau...

If you click on his father (Georg), you'll see that this Christian had sisters Anna and Agatha (as well as a few others) and that Anna may have emigrated with him.

As you'll see from clicking on Pedigree, I've got Christian's ancestors back to the 1400s. Those in my online tree who have ALL CAPS for last names are direct-line ancestors of mine; as you'll see there are many in Christian's pedigree, meaning that -- if this is indeed your Christian -- you and I are cousins.

hello Chris. Most Yauch;s are related if you go back far enough to the Schwennigen Wuertenburg area of Alsace France/ Germany. My tree immigrated here in the 1850's through USA. They came to Ontario Canada for approx 60 years. Most then moved to the Iowa and Arkansas area were their families grew from there. If these areas are your roots, email, back and we could most likely connect given the data I have.

Jillian: Still do FTM work, I have not renew my subscription with ancestory.com yet as I don't get much time during the Summer months. Christian Yauch died while visiting some of his children in Arkansas USA Feb 11 1915. His wife Eva Mary Brunner died there as well Mar 12 1918. They are suppose to be buried back here in Sebringville Ontario Canada at the First Luthern Church Seebach's Hill just outside Sebringville. I live in Stratford Ontario about 15km from there. I have visited the grave yard and there is no gravestone for them. Some of the children two of them who died before they did are buried there. I have not checked the actual church records to confirm this. I do believe that is were they are but I do not know for absolute fact.
