Re: YAPP FAMILY - STAFFORDSHIRE
I am a Yapp from Staffordshire!
Anyone particular that you are looking for? My grandfather James and father Raymond were/are based around West Bromwich but (and I am fairly new to this) I cannot yet make a definite identification of my great-grandfather (also James b~1892) in the 1901 census. I know he lived in Oldbury / Langley (Worcestershire at the time).

Re: YAPP FAMILY - STAFFORDSHIRE
Hi Graham, I am in Australia and am checking for someone in Australia about the YAPP name...I have access to most England and USA plus Aussie stuff.
This YAPP surname has intrigued me (frustrated I mean,,hehe) and if you need any help..(free of course) I will try and help trace the name as i think somehow you may be connected to those I am searching for a friend..(if not related,,no biggie)
As I am in Australia I have no real idea about places in England etc.....so if you need help...post what you have,,names/parents/births etc and I will see what I have access to..

Re: YAPP FAMILY - STAFFORDSHIRE
i have started to research my family history. My maternal grandfather was Arthur Leonard Yapp, I am the daughter of the child Elisabeth Denise Yapp from his ( second ) marriage to Lily Edith Pope Dickens. He also had three children from a previous marriage to Laura Augusta Bates who died in 1916. They were Robert, Lettice and Arthur Leonard Rowley (Uncle Ronnie) who married Eileen Winifred Scholey Dickens. Leonard ( grandfather ) and Lily Lived at 45, Tithe Barne Road Stafford ( Augusta house). He was Manager at Boots chemist and died in 1949. Does this sound interesting?

Re: YAPP FAMILY - STAFFORDSHIRE
Hi Vicky. Is your grandfather the son of Arthur Valentine Yapp, a baker, originally from Pinchbeck, Lincs, who later resided in Ipswich, Suffolk? If so please get in touch. My great grandfather was Arthur Valentine, and my grandmother was Ivy Kathleen, his youngest daughter from his second marriage to Alice Maud. I don't believe my grandmother knew much about her half brothers and sisters so would love to swap any information with you.

Re: YAPP FAMILY - STAFFORDSHIRE
Hi
I am also in Australia.
Your post re. Yapp was ages ago - but I am just starting out 'finding' my great aunt who died in Australia (1909) shortly after arriving from the UK. Her name was Nellie Hall, and shortly after arriving in Sydney she married Charles Yapp (1908) son of Arthur and Mary Yapp. Charles was born in Birmingham UK and on Nellie's death certificate he is listed as a coach builder. Nellie came from Ipswich in the UK, where I have been able to find several Yapps with connections to coachbuilding - so I assume she met her future husband there and he came ahead of her to Australia.
Not sure if any of this fits with your family research - but it would be good to hear if anyone out there has also found the Yapp/Hall connection!
regards
Christine
