As research into my Herefordshire UK Community/History/Genealogy web site (which will be up and running soon) I have been transcribing the UK Census for Herefordshire 1841. This is the first national census in the UK. I have just completed the parish of Stoke Prior.

The only details on this census were Parish, First Name, Surname, Age, Sex, Occupation, and were you born in Herefordshire. If you feel that your ancestors come from this area and the information may be relevant I'll be happy to mail the details to you.

The prominent names in the census for this area are:- Parks, Fox, Sirrell, Bynt, Bowdler, Protheroe, Yapp, Staples, Baynham, Mapp and Stansberry.

Hi, I think I have more information for you. The Yapp's you mention emigrated from Middleton on the Hill in Herefordshire. I might be able to fill some more gaps for you.
