Hi, I think I have more information for you. The Yapp's you mention emigrated from Middleton on the Hill in Herefordshire. I might be able to fill some more gaps for you.

Hi, I'm an American living in northern Illinois. My earliest known Yapp ancestor was Richard Yapp, b. 1814 in Herefordshire somewhere. He married Elizabeth Richards, b. 1807. They married in 1838. They had four children Samuel, Richard (1841), Mary and Anna and came to America in 1850.

It's been many years after your request, but that is my direct line. I will visit England soon and want to go see the town in which we came from. I'd appreciate any information on this line you may have. Thank you,

Sandy Yapp Erickson

Delia,
I saw this post of yours from a year ago responding to an earlier post that said, "I only see one Yapp family from Britain to USA in the 1849 .. James + Ann, (James Jr., Mary, George) .. I just don't know the parish they came from."
I've been researching this family & was wondering if you could pass on any more information.
Thanks, Joyce (Yapp) Johanns
