Margaret A. Yaple, age 85, of Niagara Village,
died quietly at home, on Sunday, January 25, 2015.
She was born in Oil City, Pa., on November 23rd, 1929, daughter of the late Margaret Nelson and Victor E. Gordon. She graduated from Oil City High School, Class of 1947, and Edgewood Park Briarcliff Manor in New York. In the past, she had served on the Board of the Lake Shore Women's Association and the American Red Cross. Margaret was a past President of the Lake Shore Garden Club and was on the Board of Deacons of Wayside Presbyterian Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard J. Yaple, in 1995, and a brother Eugene Gordon. She is survived by four children, Chris Hirtzel (Charlie) of North East, Lisa Straub (Charles) of Cranesville, Stephen Root of Grant, Florida and Lori Herrmann (Roger) of Fairview. Margaret is further survived by seven grandchildren, Chas and Dave Hirtzel, Pam Gong, Julie Laemmerhirt, Emillie Lorah, Nicholas Straub and Lindsay Filley. Margaret also leaves ten great-grandchildren. Friends may call at the Burton Funeral Home, 602 West 10th Street, on Friday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service there at 7:00 p.m., with The Reverend Keith Sundberg officiating.
