Jimmy Dale Yancy
Missouri City, Texas — Memorial services for Jimmy Dale Yancy, 60, of Missouri City, Texas will be held in Sugar Land, Texas at the Settegast-Kopf Funeral Home Saturday, October 23rd, with visitation at 10:00am and services at 12:00 noon; and in Healdton, Oklahoma at the Bethel Baptist Church Monday, October 25th, 2004 at 2:00pm. Arrangements are under the direction of Roberts Funeral Home in Healdton, Oklahoma.
Mr. Yancy died Thursday, October 21st, 2004 at Fort Bend County Hospital in Missouri City, Texas. He was born in Healdton, Oklahoma, graduated from Healdton High School and Murray State College, and served his country in the Army National Guard.
After a distinguished career in the petroleum industry including twenty years in management with Pool Energy, Mr. Yancy became Executive Director of the nation’s leading energy services association, representing the trade group in Washington, DC. He chaired various industry standards committees and served on the American Petroleum Institute (API) Executive Committee. He was the recipient of regional and national petroleum industry awards, and was published in numerous industry periodicals.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Ila Jean Mobley-Johnston; and his stepfather, Ernest F. Mobley.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Beth Yancy of Missouri City, Texas; a son and daughter-in-law, Bob and Kristi Yancy of College Station, Texas; a daughter and son-in-law, Jemma and Chris Thomas of Houston, Texas; a son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Paige Yancy of Katy, Texas; and three grandchildren, Shannon Yancy, Lance Yancy, and Mackenzie Yancy.
Jim was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great friend.
