Michele, I am new to ancestry.com. I just saw that you were looking for Al and Ruby Yanak. Did you find them. They are my Parents! Is your granny still living? My parents, sad to say have just recently gone on to heaven. My name in Jeanie Brick (Yanak). I've heard lots of stories of living in Denver, and I bet I have some pictures of your Granny.

Hi Jeanie
Jeanie, are you married to Dr. Brick of Morgantown? I work for WVU as well, and I think someone told me at one time that they thought your maiden name was Yanak. I am trying to do some research on my husband's side of the family and I have not done too well. My husband's grandfather came over on the boat from Slovakia, and I think that his original name was spelled Janak. I found his brother Rudolph's record and his nephew Lewis, but can't find his boat record. Perhaps email me and maybe our families might be related. Take care

Hi, sorry it took me so long to respond. I'm on my husbands IPad which is not quite as user friendly as my computer which is down temp... Yes, my father was Albert j. Yanak, son of Ernestine and Lewis sr. Yanak. I did ancestry.com but I'm not sure if I found the boat or not. I'll have to go back in and look. This side of my family was really tricky as in I don't know who came over on the boat together, and I tried multiple spellings. I tried janek, janeck yeneck, etc. Lewis Yanak jr. Was my fathers brother. Oh, and. Yes. dr. John Brick is married to me! Jeanie
