TRAFFIC HURTS FATAL TO TWO
Japanese Driver Held Pending Inquest
Death continued to stalk the traffic lanes yesterday, leaving two victims in its wake.
Mrs. Mary Oine, 55 years of age, of 2479 Pomeroy street, was killed instantly last night when she was struck by an automobile driven by Haruo Nakashima, Japanese gardener, of 2219 North Broadway, at Soto and Pomeroy streets.
Nakashima was held by Hollenbeck police on suspicion of negligent homicide pending an inquest.
Margaret Parris, 43, of 825 Sunset Boulevard, was killed instantly while crossing Sunset Boulevard near her home, when she was struck, police reported, by a truck driven by James Yamamoto, 606 1/2 East First street.
