aloha - i'm trying to locate my grandparents - YAMAMOTO, Yoshimi (m), and his wife, FUJII, Hatsuko. They immigrated to Hawai'i, but i don't know when, then returned to Japan sometime between 1958 and 1961, although i am pretty sure it was late 1959 to early 1960. i do not know where they moved to, although i suspect it may have been Hiroshima.
They had a daughter (my mother), YAMAMOTO, Ellen Miyoko, b Feb 26, 1939, d. Jul 28, 1988. She graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1956 or '57, i believe.
i don't know if they had any other children. There may have been a relative (Yamamoto?) who lived (and possibly died) on Kaua'i
i believe my grandfather was an editor at a Japanese language newspaper. He may have been interned briefly at Honouliuli. They lived on Esther Street in Kaimuki, and Frank Street on St Louis Heights.
we may relatives in Kyoto and Hiroshima, including some who lived in Hiroshima at the time of the atomic bombing.
I am seeking ANY information (birth/death, immigraton/emigration, employment, health, other family members, etc) regarding any of my maternal family, as ALL contact and history, other than the information above, has been lost.
